Joe Kwon, Inc., reserves the right to review for approval all comments left by users of this application. Comments left by users may be deleted by Administrators of this application before or after publication. Although Administrators intend to exercise all diligence in monitoring the content of user comments, no guarantee is made that questionable content will never appear, or that it will be deleted upon its being called to our attention. The monitoring and approval of content is entirely at the discretion of Joe Kwon, Inc., and no promise is made to any user that comments left by such user will be accepted or approved. Audio App Crash Issue

Symptom: App crashes back to home screen when user attempts to play an audio story

Cause: The iOS 6 update released by Apple in September of 2012 did not provide backward compatibility with the functionality implemented in the audio app. This update adversely effected any user attempting to use the audio app on a device having iOS 6.

Solution: Delete the audio app from your device and install the latest update directly from the App Store — NOT from iTunes on your PC. The latest version has been thoroughly tested with versions of iOS 4.2 thru 6.x successfully. If you are encountering any issues with the audio app after updating to the latest version of the audio app:

1) Confirm you have updated to the latest version available on the App Store
2) Reset your device

If you have confirmed and completed both of these steps, contact our technical support department and provide complete details so they can assist you.

Please note that leaving support questions on App Store reviews will not help resolve this problem because our support team CANNOT RESPOND to APP STORE REVIEWS; you’ll just be wasting your time. Contact our support department directly to resolve issues quickly.

Reset Your iPhone

Sometimes your iDevice needs to be reset to resolve issues with apps running on the device. Apps crashing and other unexpected behavior may be indicators that it’s time to reset your device.

Reset the iPhone by holding the sleep/wake button at the top right of the device and the home button at the bottom center of the face at the same time.

Hold them both until you see the screen go black. In some cases, you may need to keep holding them even after the red power off slider appears. If it does, just keep holding it.

Wait until the white Apple logo appears. When this happens, you can let go – the iPhone is rebooting.

Configuring Your E-mail Program to Send and Receive E-mail

POP3 vs IMAP
There are two different ways of retrieving your e-mail: POP3 and IMAP.

These are the protocols that your computer and our mail server will speak to each other in order to transfer your mail.

The main difference between them is where the mail is stored. Mail retrieved via POP3 is transferred to your computer and then usually deleted from the mail server. Thus you have all your mail stored on your own computer. Using IMAP means that the mail is stored on our server – you can view it from your computer, but it is always taking up space on our server until you delete it.

POP3 Configuration : POP3 – Post Office Protocol Version 3

POP3 is the most popular method of retrieving mail. All mail is transferred from our server to your computer and then managed locally. All sub-folders are created on your own computer and do not take up disk space on our server. This provides you quick access to your messages and also allows you to work with them offline. Usually, messages transferred using POP3 are deleted from our server after they have been transferred to your computer. However, you are able to setup an exception to this so that a copy of your message stays on our server until you delete it.

If your e-mail address was yourself@yourdomain.com, you could configure your e-mail client (e-mail program) using POP3 as follows:

Username: yourself@yourdomain.com
Return Address: yourself@yourdomain.com
Incoming (POP3) mail server: pop3.yourdomain.com
Outgoing (SMTP) mail server: smtp.yourdomain.com

Your e-mail client will probably have a wizard to help you set up a new e-mail account. These wizards are very easy to use when you have the correct information. All the information you need is provided in this article.

For example, to create a new e-mail account in Outlook Express, start by opening the program and going to Tools, then Accounts. Then click on Add -> Mail, which opens the Add E-mail wizard. When prompted for the display name, enter your name and click Next.

Next the wizard will ask you for your e-mail address. Enter it in the format of yourself@yourdomain.com and click Next. Then enter your incoming (pop3.yourdomain.com) and outgoing (smtp.yourdomain.com) mail servers. The type must be POP3.

In the next step, the wizard asks you for your account name, what is commonly referred to as your username. This is where you enter yourself@yourdomain.com and your password.

The next step will ask you to finish, letting you check your e-mail through Joe Kwon, Inc Hosting.

If you are using our SMTP server to send e-mail you must also enable SMTP Authentication. You can do this by going to Tools, then Accounts, once open select your e-mail account and click Properties. Once the properties window is open, click on Servers, under that tab will be an option that you click on called My server requires authentication. This should be everything you need to do in order to enable SMTP Authentication. If you are not using Outlook Express and need help enabling SMTP Authentication in your E-mail client, please follow these directions.

IMAP Configuration

IMAP – Internet Message Access Protocol (sometimes listed as Internet Mail Access Protocol).

IMAP is a mail protocol that provides management of received messages on a remote server. When connected via IMAP, you can review headers, create or delete folders/mailboxes and messages, and search contents remotely without downloading. This option is very popular when viewing or downloading email from many different locations or computers.

If your e-mail address was yourself@yourdomain.com, you could configure your e-mail client (e-mail program) using IMAP as follows:

Most email clients ask you whether or not you wish to synchronize your new IMAP account. This will download any folders or messages that have already accumulated in your e-mail account on the mail server, while still keeping them on the server. This includes e-mail messages contained in Joe Kwon, Inc Webmail.

Warning: If you use Joe Kwon, Inc Webmail or configure your local client to use IMAP, all your e-mail is stored on our mail server including your Trash folder, Outbox and all other folders you create. This e-mail accumulates and, unless deleted, occupies the disk space quota included with your hosting account.

Automatic IMAP Mailbox Maintenance

In the interest of saving the valuable disk space included with your account and minimizing overage charges that can occur from a build-up of mail in the “Trash” folder, Joe Kwon, Inc Hosting’s unique IMAP Mailbox Maintenance feature automatically clears email messages older than 30 days stored in the “Trash” folder of IMAP email accounts on a weekly basis.

This feature is activated by default, but can be deactivated if desired. From the Email Administration area of your Control Panel, select the domain name to modify this setting for, then click the “Disable” button below “IMAP Mailbox Maintenance”.

To combat the risk of going above your quota and receiving a bill for extra e-mail disk space usage, we recommend:

a) Leaving the IMAP Mailbox Maintenance feature activated.

b) Checking your control panel on a regular basis to remain aware of your current e-mail disk space usage. E-mail disk space usage is updated every evening and is viewable in the Email Administration and Disk Space Usage areas.

c) Transferring email from folders stored on our server to a “local folders” area on your computer. Most e-mail clients have a local folders area which allows you to create folders and store mail locally.

Finally, note that the Hard Quota and Soft Quota that you set on individual e-mail accounts through E-mail Administration do not take into account e-mail stored in IMAP folders; they only limit the amount of e-mail stored in your Inbox (mail waiting to be downloaded via your POP3 client).

You are currently allocated 10000 MB of disk space and additional Disk Space is automatically billed at the standard rate of $0.20/MB.

If you find you’re consistently going over your disk space quota (10000 MB) you can either switch back to POP3 which downloads your mail locally and then removes it from the mail server, or you can file a support ticket to make a billing arrangement for the extra space being used.

SSL Email

To enhance the security of e-mail, Joe Kwon, Inc Hosting is pleased to support Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. This is particularly beneficial if you use your email account for sensitive communications, such as orders containing full credit card information.

Enabling SSL e-mail is fast and straightforward. Simply configure your e-mail client (e-mail program) to connect using SSL (for both Incoming and Outgoing mail) and use the following secure email servers:

Incoming (POP3) mail server: pop3s.gdom.net
Incoming (IMAP) mail server: imaps.gdom.net
Outgoing (SMTP) mail server: smtps.gdom.net

Trouble Sending E-mail through Joe Kwon, Inc Hosting’s Mail Servers?

We have been receiving increasing reports of many ISPs blocking third-party access to port 25 (the standard port for SMTP, or outgoing e-mail). Joe Kwon, Inc Hosting provides a work-around to this issue that may prevent you from having to contact your ISP: simply change your e-mail client (program) to connect to our SMTP server on port 587 instead of 25. This is a unique port offered by Joe Kwon, Inc that most ISPs do not block, allowing you to send e-mail through your Joe Kwon, Inc Hosting account.
